The House is in disarray. More than two weeks after the 'hateful eight' led a revolt to oust Speaker McCarthy, House Republicans have yet to elect a new Speaker. First Scalise fails, now Jim Jordan continues to fall on his face. An attempt to promote the Speaker Pro Temp failed too. All of it is messy. Of course this all comes at a time when the US must step up to assist Israel and Ukraine with new funding. Allison Ball has broken plenty of glass ceilings as the State's Treasurer over the last four years. From her historic vote getting, to starting a family and her long list of policy accomplishments, Allison Ball now looks to take her talents to the Auditor's office. A steward of the taxpayers's dollars, Ball hopes to transition into the Auditor's office in 2023 and take on some big challenges. With less than 50 days until election day, Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Governor Andy Beshear faced off in the same venue for the first time since Fancy Farm as they both took part in the state chamber's forum on Wednesday night. With a focus on economic development, Cameron and Beshear offered two differing paths forward for Kentucky, talking jobs, taxes, crime and much more. Over the next month and a half the two will face off a few more times ahead of election day.
